Ginberry I FAQ
What is Ginberry?
Ginberry is a nutritional supplement formulated upon the principles of Nutritional Immunology. It contains a high concentration of ginseng berries.
What are ginseng berries? What are their effects?
Ginseng berries are the very rare and precious berries of the ginseng plant. The ginseng plant must grow for at least three or four years before the ruby-red berries are mature and ready for harvesting. Each ginseng plant produces only a small number of berries and each berry contains just a few seeds. Some of the berries must be left to ensure another season of harvest. Thus, only a few ginseng berries are harvested each time. Because each ginseng berry contains only a small drop of vital fluid, it must be handled with great care when its juice is extracted.
Ginseng berries contain a special ginsenoside called ginsenoside Re, a very valuable nutrient for overall health and vitality. Research shows that the precious ginseng berry extract offers tremendous health benefits: it helps boost vitality, increases blood supply to the brain to enhance concentration, slows down cell degeneration, decreases blood sugar levels, aids digestion, calms the nerves, and helps treat chronic fatigue syndrome.
Researchers at the University of Chicago have also revealed ginseng berry’s promise for treating diabetes, obesity and cholesterol-related problems. Ginseng berry can also enhance the energy levels of athletes. It has been proven that athletes use oxygen more efficiently after taking ginseng berries.
Can ginseng berry really prevent or treat diabetes?
The blood glucose levels of diabetics are closely related to factors such as their lifestyles and dietary habits. Researchers at the University of Chicago carried out tests on mice bred to develop diabetes. Ginseng berry extract completely normalized blood glucose levels, improved sensitivity to insulin, lowered cholesterol levels, and decreased weight by reducing appetite and increasing activity levels in the mice. The ginsenoside Re in ginseng berry also shows promise in preventing diabetes.
Tang Center for Herbal Medicine Research has discovered that ginseng berry extract and ginsenoside Re can improve sensitivity to insulin and regulate blood glucose levels.
What are the different types of diabetes?
There are three types of diabetes: gestational, type 1 and type 2.
Gestational diabetes is a type of glucose intolerance that occurs in some pregnant women. These pregnant women need to normalize their blood sugar levels to avoid complications in their unborn child. Gestational diabetes puts the mother at risk of type 2 diabetes. About 5% to 10% of pregnant women who have gestational diabetes also develop type 2 diabetes at the onset of their pregnancy. Other pregnant women who have gestational diabetes have a 20% to 50% chance of getting type 2 diabetes in the following five to ten years.
Type 1 diabetes accounts for about 5% of all diagnosed diabetes cases. The exact cause of type 1 diabetes is unknown. In type 1 diabetes, cells within the pancreas are destroyed and eventually insulin is no longer produced. The patient needs several insulin injections a day or an insulin pump to survive. Type 1 diabetes is thought to be inherited and usually strikes children and young adults.
Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes; it accounts for about 90% to 95% of all diagnosed cases of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is associated with obesity, old age, family history of diabetes, previous history of gestational diabetes, impaired glucose tolerance, physical inactivity, race and ethnicity. Hence, treatment should not just focus on normalizing glucose levels but also on adopting a healthy lifestyle that includes diet management, plenty of exercise and losing excess weight.
In general, a diet rich in plant foods is recommended for diabetics to maintain health.
