A world-renowned immunologist and multi-awarded scientist, Dr. Jau-Fei Chen founded Extra Excel International and Excellence Healthcare with the sole vision of bringing health to the world through the science of Nutritional Immunology.

She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology and Chemistry at the age of 19. Obtained a Master of Science degree in Microbiology, with emphasis on Immunology and Biochemistry at the age of 21. Obtained a Ph.D. in Microbiology at the age of 26; taught upper level immunology in both Master and Ph.D. programs in Brigham Young University. Founded E. Excel International in Utah, USA in 1987. Presented significant research papers at the conference of International Federation of Immunologists in Washington D.C. in 1987 and 1988. Received the Global Overseas Chinese Best Young Person Award in 1992.

Received the Martin De La Cruz Award - the highest honor in the Sixth International Congress on Traditional and Folk Medicine in 1992.

Received the Second Annual Model of Overseas Chinese Youth Entrepreneur in 1993.

Chosen as one of the 100 Most Influential Chinese in the US in 1994. Invited to attend The Asia Outstanding Chinese New Year Eve Dinner hosted by US President Bill Clinton in 1996.

Received the Outstanding Woman of the Year Award in 1996; March 8, 1996 was designated as Jau-Fei Chen Day by the California state governor.

Received First Place in the Thesis Categories of the Third Annual Conference of World Traditional Medicine in 1996.

Received the Ten Outstanding Young Americans Award in 1997.

Won The China Dynasty Award by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission of Taiwan in 1997. One of fourteen Chinese persons to be highlighted in the book Outstanding Chinese in the World in 1999. Recognized with a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the use of ginseng berry and cactus fruit in 2001.

Received the Biotech Medical Product Quality Award for the formulation of Essence of Knowledge in 2001.

Invited to meet personally with Zhu Rongji during his premiership of China in 2002. Founder of Excellence Healthcare - the first state-of-the-art medical center whose primary commitment is to first prevent and then treat. Invited to share the science of Nutritional Immunology on China Central Television's Road To Health program and China Beijing Television Station's TV Clinic program in 2004. Invited by the All-China Women's Federation to be the special speaker at the launch of Walking In Health, a national initiative aimed at improving women's health in 2004. E. Excel won the prestigious New Millennium Award at the 30th Golden Award for the Best Trade Name and the Food Safety Excellence Award in 2005. Invited by China's Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Party School of the CPC Central Committee to present a health seminar on Nutritional Immunology in 2005. Dr. Chen was invited to meet Chinese President Hu Jintao and other senior officials in 2005. Invited by China’s State Council and Tsinghua University to present a lecture on Nutritional Immunology in 2006.
